The Hay Springs volleyball team will play Falls City Sacred Heart in the D2-6 district final on Saturday in Litchfield at 2:00 pm.. Because the schools are more than 150 miles apart, a neutral location has been selected.
The Hawks are in search of their 4th ever state tournament appearance and their first since 2010 while the Irish have been regulars in Lincoln since 2000 with a pair of state championships and a runner-up finish.
Bayard drew Freeman in the C2-5 district final in Cozad. The Tigers haven’t been to state since 1992.
Sidney, who defeated Scottsbluff in the B8 sub-district on Wednesday night, will host Omaha Duchesne Academy in the B5 final and the Bearcats will travel to Seward for the B6 final as a wildcard, both on Saturday.
State tournament action begins next Wednesday from Pinnacle Bank Arena.
