Hay Springs jumped out to a 30-0 2nd quarter lead on Arthur County in the D6 quarterfinals on Friday only to see the Wolves cut it down to 50-42 in the 4th and then hold on for a 58-49 win to advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2018.
Gage Mintken rushed for four touchdowns and threw for another. Dylan Raymer ran for one score and caught another and Dylan Young threw a touchdown and picked off a fumble and returned it to the endzone for a score on the other side of the ball.
The win for Hay Springs also avenges an 80-7 loss to Arthur County in week three of the regular season.
The Hawks built a lead of 30-0 midway through before the Wolves fought back to make it a 50-42 game with 9:40 left in the 4th.

Elsewhere around the region on Friday, Scottsbluff was toppled by Elkhorn North in Class B 35-26. Mitchell was blown out by Ord in C2 ,47-21 and Sidney advances to their first semifinal appearance since 1993 with a 41-34 victory over Pierce.
