The Hot Springs defense pitched a shutout and the Bison are heading to the 11B football semifinals after a 28-0 win over unbeaten and 3rd seeded Aberdeen Roncalli on Thursday night.
Landon Iverson put Hot Springs on the board first with the only first half touchdown, a 27-yard with just over a minute left in the first quarter.
After forcing a Cavaliers punt early in the 3rd quarter, the Bison would move down the field 90-yards before Preston Iverson crossed the goal line from 5-yards away to extend the lead out to 14-0. Preston would score again late in the 3rd to put Hot Springs up 21-0 heading to the 4th.
Landon put the cherry on top with just under 9-minutes left in the ball game on an 8-yard run to send the Bison to their first semi-final since 2014.
Hot Springs will match up with 2nd seeded Elk Point-Jefferson next Thursday. Location and kickoff time are TBA.
