Ida Lois (Saxton) Hand, 91, died peacefully on May 17, 2021 in Desert Shores, California. She was born August 15, 1929, to Lewis and Alice (Talley) Saxton in Crawford, Nebraska. Ida and her husband moved to the Long Beach, CA area in 1972 and relocated to Desert Shores upon her husband’s retirement in She served her new community in many capacities. She was her church organist for over 25 years and worked as the church secretary. She also served as the President of the Senior Citizen’s Association and on the Board of Directors for the Ambulance Association.
She is survived by her daughter, Robynn Gualtiere of Winchester, CA; three grandchildren; and 6 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hand, in 2006 and her younger daughter, Kristi House, in 2014.
Services are scheduled for July 6, at the Crawford Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. under the direction of Chamberlain Chapel.
