Identity Of Victims In Fatal Crash Near Oelrichs Released

      The South Dakota Highway Patrol says 3 of the 4 men in a fatal one-vehicle crash last Thursday morning near Oelrichs that killed 3 of them were from the Pine Ridge Reservation with the other from Hot Springs.

      Killed were 25-year old Darrell Eagle of Hot Springs and Michael Walking and Marco Starr, both 26-year olds from Pine Ridge. The survivor was 26-year old Floyd Brings Plenty, also of Pine Ridge.

      The Highway Patrol says the men were eastbound on Hwy 18 in a subcompact hatchback about 4 miles east of Oelrichs around 7:15 Thursday morning when the driver, who has not been identified, lost control.

      The small car rolled several times before coming to rest in the ditch. None of the 4 men was wearing a seatbelt. Eagle, Walking, and Starr all died at the scene.

      Brings Plenty was airlifted to a Rapid City hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. There’s been no update released on his condition.
