The Educational Service Unit 13 board is taking the term “interim” off the title of Administrator of Dr Laura Barrett.

Dr Barrett, also Co-Coordinator for the Nebraska Deptt of Education’s Multi-Tiered System of Support project, became ESU 13 interim administrator last July when Dr Andrew Dick left to become Superintendent of the Scottsbluff Public Schools.

Board president Mark Sinner says Barrett is known and respected across Nebraska at all levels of education and brings enthusiasm, experience, and a vision for the future to ESU 13 and the school districts, schools, and students of the Panhandle.

Barrett says she’s honored to have the opportunity to continue to work with the amazing staff at ESU 13 and its member districts as they meet the needs of the communities in the Panhandle.

Educational Service Unit 13 provides services to all 11 Panhandle counties and 21 school districts with more than 14,000 students and over 1,000 teachers.
