Jacinda Ree Kills Straight “Wawokiye Omani Win” (Goes Around Helping Woman) was born to Teresa Nieto on May 5, 1989, in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. She was raised in Sharps Corner, SD, and Kyle, SD. As an adult she lived in Rapid City, SD, Santo Domingo, Pueblo NM, and Chamberlain, SD. At the time of her passing, on August 6, 2023, she resided in Chamberlain, SD.

Jacinda “Sin” was nurturing, motherly, tenacious, exceptionally beautiful, strong-willed, fierce, compassionate, endlessly loving, kind, thoughtful, and highly loyal. Jacinda was intelligent, solving situations others may not have thought of. Jacinda went out of her way to help those in need and took you in as a family; she was very family oriented. Jacinda was humorous and livened a room with jokes; she could find laughter in the most minor things and in the most challenging times.

Jacinda was wise beyond her years; she could troubleshoot electronics and was the mechanic for her mom and sisters. Jacinda loved children, she loved to hold them, carry them, and talk to them, she was their protector. She was a protector of those she loved.

She was adventurous and jumped at the chance to travel. She lived fast and fiercely; she was not afraid to walk straight into life’s storms, only to turn around and tell you to catch up. She loved to cook for her family. Jacinda was the oldest cousin and considered them her nieces and nephews and some called her “Auntie”.

She loved listening to music, and she loved the moon with its wonderous beauty and light. She loved her sisters with abundance and protected them, teaching them to make healthy choices and respect for themselves. She set high standards for her sisters and wanted only the best; she thought her sisters deserved the finest in life. She called Justice “Love”, Mary “Maudie” and Melissa “Baby”, she called her 2 younger sisters “The Babies”.

Jacinda is survived by her mother, Teresa Nieto; stepfather, Keith Fleury; father, Kirby Kills Straight; sisters, Justice Cree Kills Straight, Mary Anne Clinchers, and Melissa Jo Clinchers; fur brother, Chachee Allen; grandparents, Don & Gloria Pourier; aunts, Cholena Pourier, Summer Pourier, and Stormy Pourier; uncles, Melvin “MJ” Pourier, Tom Pourier, Keith “Bucky” Kills Straight, and Lester Kills Straight; cousins, Joven White Butterfly, Jossan Richards, Christian White, Lexi Pourier, Steven Nosey Hawk, Robert, Rylan & Emily Weston, Isaiah, Cadence, Xavier, Mason, Annalee, Darrell, Aspen, Aiden & Ashton Pourier, and Terri & Taran Red Owl; and significant other, Lynn Yellow Horse.

Jacinda was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Thomas & Harriet Hurkes, Raymond & Reyes Nieto; grandparents, Pedro Nieto, Daniel Cain Kills Straight, Birgil Kills Straight, Robert Nieto, Lesardo Nieto, Perfilia Nieto, Dennis Hurkes, Philip Hurkes, DuWayne Hurkes and Marie Richey; aunts, Charlotte Kills Straight, and Justina Kills Straight; uncle, Craig Hurkes; and cousins, MacKenzie Pourier, Jeremy Kills Straight, Keith Daniel Kills Straight, Richard Nieto, Elliott Nieto, Leonard Hurkes, Philip Hurkes, Tom T. Hurkes, and Lesley Ash.

Pallbearers will be Melvin “MJ” Pourier, Tom Pourier, Jossan Richards, Isaiah Gregory-John Pourier, Christian White, and Cadence Pourier.

Wake Services: Two night wake service starting at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the On Common Ground Church in Rapid City, SD with evening prayer services at 6:00 PM each night.
