With great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved son, brother and friend James C. Meyerring.
He suffered a heart attack on October 20th, 2020 in Portland, OR. We will have a celebration of life ceremony in the future with details forthcoming.
James Christopher Meyerring was born in Chadron, NE on January, 25th, 1979.
He was the youngest of six kids and could often be heard saying “the only boy.” James often joked about his luck having five older sisters. His sense of humor was contagious and he was often found in the middle of the group telling a story or joke. He absolutely loved to make people laugh.
His passions included being outdoors, riding dirt bikes and skate boarding. He often spent his free time camping, fishing and going to the beach. His love of the outdoors took him to Missouri, Colorado and eventually Oregon. He had a deep appreciation for Oregon’s beauty with mountains on one side and the ocean on the other.
James was an avid sports fan. He watched Husker and Chiefs games religiously. He was the Nebraska State Wrestling Champion when he was only 8 years old. He also qualified for the state swimming tournament. He was always in for a pick up game of basketball or whooping up on anyone in Madden football.
Maybe more than anything, he loved his dogs. He had many over the years including Cane, Apollo, Peanut, Cooper and Kevin. He was an excellent pet owner. He obsessed over what they ate and leaving them alone. He traveled all over the country with his dogs.
James also loved his family and friends. People could always count on him to help. He was the guy who would help you move, make you laugh and stick up for you.
He is survived by his Mom and Dad, Connie Meyerring and Jim Meyerring, his siblings, their spouses and children, Lynelle and Abby Wages, Wendi, Todd, Trevor and Emily Lewin, Stephanie, Doug, Sydney and Brenden Marsden, Karri Meyerring, Jen Meyerring-Vigil, Christian, Carter and Claire Vigil and many great friends.
Honorary pallbearers include Bobby Malone, Seph Pickering, Jay Hisey and Jeff Primo.
