Funeral services for 40-year old James Red Wing are Sat, July 22, 2023 at 5:00 at the Pine Ridge Elementary School Gymnasium in Pine Ridge, SD, with Mother Michelle Dayton officiating.
Cremation will follow the services with burial at a later date.
Visitation precedes the funeral from noon till 5:00 on Sat, July 22, at the Pine Ridge Elementary School Gymnasium

James Cody Red Wing was born on February 1, 1983 in Pine Ridge, SD to Lawrence Red Wing and Darrelyn Steele. Cody made his journey to the Spirit World on July 15, 2023 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Cody is survived by his father Lawrence Red Wing of Rapid City, SD; siblings Darrell Red Wing of Denver, CO, Jesse (Tasheena) Red Wing of Pine Ridge, SD, and Taelor Red Wing of Rapid City, SD; children Stormy Red Wing and Spirit Red Wing both of Brookings, SD, and Chloe Red Wing and Xzhavier Red Wing both of Rapid City, SD; grandsons Uriah Red Wing and Kaiden Red Wing; aunt Lindy Trueblood of Rapid City, SD; nieces & nephews Eric Cottier, Jaylee Red Wing, Michael & Harlee Carlow, and Charlee Schreiner; and significant other Amber Blacksmith of Brookings, SD.
Cody was preceded in death by his mother Tinky Steele; daughter Whisper Cottier; grandfather Darrell “Binky” Steele; and aunt Dolly Steele.
Pallbearers will be Gabe Dreamer Jr, George Dreamer Jr, Jesse Byerley, Dom Saucedo, Dusty Whirlwind Horse, Robert Pond Jr, Steve Ross Jr, Harley Cortier Jr, Matthew Tobacco, Beau Cuevas Sr, and Frank Ghost.
