Jesse James Black Bear was born on September 10, 1983 in Pine Ridge, SD to John Tonto Black Bear and Gloria Red Cloud. Jesse made his journey to the Spirit World on December 31, 2022 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Jesse is survived by his children, Skate Hoksila (Neriah) Little Hawk, Brandon Little Hawk, Sophia Little Hawk, Persaus Black Bear, Darrent Cottier, Kaloni Cottier, Aubree Cottier, Glorian Black Bear, Christopher Reshaw, Andrew Reshaw, Majestic Thomas, Antonio Black Bear, and Jesson Black Bear; sisters, Regina Black Bear, Rosebud Black Bear, and Aldean Black Bear; brothers, Junior Black Bear and Damien Black Bear; cousins, Tim Black Bear, Ohitika Jones, Sissetowan Shangreaux, Tuki Red Cloud, Miko Janis, Lawrence Janis, Pressler Red Cloud, Skyler Red Cloud, Deirdre Iron Mocciasin, Melarie Schuh, Samantha Lionhardy, Sonny Iron Moccasin, Taymarie Red Cloud, Raeseana Phelps, Jeyavani Phelps, Christian Phelps, and Kimberly Brings; aunts, Toni Red Cloud, Bette Red Cloud, and Bobbi Phelps; granddaughter, Lavender Little Hawk; nieces, Kieran Tibbitts, Morgan Tibbitts, Kashmir Slow Bear, and Kohli Tilton; and nephew, Caleb Black Bear.
