Funeral services for 52-year old Juanita Gilbert are Wed, June 16, 2021 at 3:30 at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge, SD, with Pastor Pedro Sharpfish officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr Tyrone Bissonette
Cremation will follow the funeral.
Visitation precedes and follows the funeral from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, also at the Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge, SD
A meal will be served at Joyner Hall in Pine Ridge starting at 4:30
Juanita Melane Gilbert was born on March 16, 1969 in Pine Ridge, SD to Emerson Spider, Sr. and Flora M. Pain On Hip. Juanita made her journey to the Spirit World on June 10, 2021 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Juanita is survived by her father, Emerson Spider, Jr. of Evergreen, SD; daughters, SuAnne (Lenart) Pain On Hip and Markie Gilbert both of Rapid City, SD; sons, Virgil Rae Pain On Hip of Maryland, and Charles Pain On Hip and Wesley Gilbert both of Rapid City, SD; siblings, Erna Little Dog, Lovie Buckman, Wilbert Buckman, Jr., and Esther Buckman all of Rapid City, SD; and grandchildren, Robert Lenart, IzaBella Lenart, Amelia Lenart, and Kasarah Pain On Hip.
Juanita was preceded in death by her mother, Flora M. Pain On Hip; grandparents, Esther Little Commander and Joan Buckman; granddaughter, Christina Pain On Hip; cousins, Shirley Bear Killer, Virgil Eagle Bear, Jerry Eagle Bear, Darrell Shannon, Anita Hollow Horn and Adrian Hollow Horn; and uncle, Harold Hollow Horn
