Kanye West Puts Wyoming Holdings On The Market

The man who is arguably the most famous person in Wyoming may be leaving – or he may be just downsizing as the result of a divorce.

Rapper, music producer and clothing entrepreneur Kanye West is selling a northwest Wyoming ranch as well as his business properties in Cody. West and Kim Kardashian announced earlier this year that they were divorcing.

The West Ranch went on the market Monday with a list price of $11 million dollars, which include 6-square miles of open land, tree-studded hills and outcrops south of Cody, but 2 other area ranches owned by West were not listed.

West had earlier listed 7 commercial properties in Cody for more than $3.2 million. Two of the properties have structures on them while the other five are vacant lots ranging in size from 0.66 to 2 acres.

West moved to Wyoming in 2019 and his announcement only a month after buying his ranch that he was moving his Yeezy Shoe operation to Cody was welcomed by local economic leaders.

Hopes for a much-needed boost to the town of 10,000 that relies primarily on tourism and agriculture for its economic foundation grew last year when West’s “Yeezy Apparel” announced an agreement with drug maker Lannet Corp to use an unfinished manufacturing plant for production and production support.
