Keep Chadron Beautiful Marking “America Recycles Day”

Loading

Today is America Recycles Day, a Keep America Beautiful national initiative and the only nationally-recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States.

Keep Chadron Beautiful is marking the day with a window display at the Chadron Natural Food Co-op and a program at 5:30 at City Hall featuring Bob Verkuilen, the State Director of Keep Nebraska Beautiful

Keep Chadron Beautiful executive director Susan Hucke says her group isn’t conducting any special recycling activities today because it celebrates Recycling Day everyday with a variety of programs.

She points to the Community Recylable Collection Day the 3rd Saturday of every month, which is this Saturday – with nearly all types of recyclables collected from 9-to-noon at the Nebraska Bank Parking.

Hucke also says Keep Chadron Beautiful will engage the Intermediate School 5-Week Club about recycling, encouraging them to take the recycling message home and engage their parents.
