Nearly all Keno games in the Panhandle saw a drop in wagering during the second quarter of this year. According to KNEB News, overall wagers for April through June totaled just over $2.4 million across 17 cities and counties, down 20.8 percent from the more than $3 million bet by players the first quarter of 2024, and down 8.8 percent from the same quarter last year.
Keno play in the second quarter was down over first quarter numbers in chadron by 21%, Crawford saw a drop of 16% and Hemingford was down by 11%. Garden County was one of the exceptions with an increase of 32%.
