Sheridan County had only a couple of contested races in Tuesday’s primary election, with county commissioner the most prominent.
. Incumbent Dan Kling easily overcame 2 opponents in the Republican primary, pulling over half the votes. Kling had 136 to Jim Paul’s 72 and Mark Yardley’s 55. He now faces Democrat Kim Rosane, who was unopposed.
The biggest race in terms of total candidates was the Gordon-Rushville school board with 8 contenders for 6 spots on the general election ballot and 3 board seats.
Coming out on top was Nick Sasse with 477, followed by Ryan Alcorn 465, Bobbi Archibald 390, Warren Scheenen 316, Jason Gantz 290 and Jessica Houston 211. Missing the cut were Chris Heiting with 205 votes and Amy Lefler with 142 votes.
