Memorial services for 65-year old Krista “Kris” Moore of Whitney, NE, are Monday, Nov 14, 2022 at 2:00 at the United Methodist Church in Chadron, NE.

Krista Moore was born on October 16, 1957, in Chadron to Harley and Ethel Olson and passed away on November 4, 2022 at Chadron Community Hospital
During her youth, Kris attended school in Chadron, Scottsbluff and Alliance, graduating from Alliance High School in 1975 and going on to study Elementary Education at Chadron State College.
She met her future husband, Jim Moore, in 1976 and the two married on May 19, 1979. Kris graduated from Chadron State that same year with her Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Jim and Kris started their lives together in Chadron and from this marriage were born two daughters; Heather Elizabeth and Katlin Rebecca.
After college, Kris started her teaching career and spent most of the rest of her life teaching. She taught at various country schools in Dawes and Sheridan County, but the last 25 years were at Wolf Creek School on the Pine Ridge Reservation. She was still employed there at the time of her passing.
When she wasn’t teaching, Kris enjoyed photography and scrapbooking. She never left home without her camera and could always be seen taking pictures of flowers, sunsets, and her grandchildren.
Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren and attending their various extracurricular activities. She was eagerly awaiting the birth of her sixth grandchild in January.
Kris is survived by her husband Jim; her daughters Heather Barry and Katie (Kyle) Hunter; her five grandchildren: Averielle, Rylan, Mayley, Paisleigh, and Beckett; her sisters Sandy (Greg) Cruz and Arlana (Tom) Whitney; her brother Kurt (Mary) Olson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kris is preceded in death by her parents.
