Funeral services for 64-year old Leo Cottier Jr are Friday, March 17, 2023 at noon at the Rockyford Community Center in Rockyford, SD, with Fr Edmund Yainao, SJ, officiating.
Cremation will follow the services with burial at a later date.
Visitation precedes and follows the funeral from 10-2:00, at the Rockyford Community Center.
Leo Francis Cottier Jr was born on May 23, 1947 in Pine Ridge, SD to Leo F Cottier Sr and Regina (Hernandez) Cottier. Leo Jr made his journey to the Spirit World on March 10, 2023 at his home in Rapid City, SD.
Leo is survived by his wife Henrietta (Ghost) Cottier of Rapid City; children Cameron Ghost Sr of Minneapolis, MN, Gabriel Cottier of St Cloud, MN, Steven Cottier of Rapid City, Stacie Cottier of Pierre, SD, Sheila Cottier of Sioux Falls, SD and Breanna Cottier of Rapid City; siblings Irene Cottier, Lonnie Cottier and Lyle Cottier, all of Sharp’s Corner, SD; aunt Rosetta Baker of Spearfish, SD; grandchildren Anna Montes, Emilio Montes, Tristen Cottier, Maria Cottier, Julianna Cottier, Penelope Cottier, Uriah Cottier, Ruby Velasquez, and Cameron Ghost Jr; great-grandson Emilio Montes Jr; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents Leo F Cottier Sr and Regina (Hernandez) Cottier; grandparents John & Agnes (Janis) Cottier, Daisy Whirlwind Horse-Cross and Valentine Hernandez; siblings Larry Cottier, Beverly Cottier, Doris Cottier, and Ann Has No Horse; and daughter, Manon Cottier.
Pallbearers will be Mark Cottier, Parry Traversie, Melvin Shoulders, David Ghost Sr, Nathan Ghost Sr, and Louie Janis.
Honorary pallbearers are All Friends & Relatives.
