Funeral services for 71-year old Leonard Poor Bear Sr are Monday, August 14, 2023 at 11:00 at St Michael’s Cemetery in Sioux Falls, SD, with traditional Lakota services by Robert Rattling Chase
Burial is Michael’s Catholic Cemetery in Sioux Falls.
A two-night wake service will be held at the Mother Butler Center in Rapid City, SD. The first day is Friday, August 11, and runs from 11:00-9:00. The second is Saturday, August 12, and runs from 9-9:00. Evening services are at 6:00 both nights.
Viewing services are Sunday, August 13, from 5-7:00 at the George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD

Leonard Robert Poor Bear Sr “Wiyakpa Wicahpi Wicasa”was born on April 19, 1952 in Pine Ridge, SD and made his journey to the Spirit World on July 26, 2023 peacefully in his home in Tea, SD.
Leonard is survived by his children Kathryn Thunder Hawk, Corbin Feather Earring, Lenora Poor Bear, Bernadette Poor Bear, Chuck Poor Bear, Lynn (Charles) Poor Bear-Burge, Mesa Nolte, and Garron Harris; grandchildren Liessa Poor Bear, Kenyon Red Dog, Casiyah, Kato, Mya, Champ, Saniya, Kyrie, Cortland, Cattaleah, and Ruben Poor Bear, Yamni Red Dog, Tiara Poor Bear, Corbin Feather Earring Jr, Heaven Feather Earring, Avani Nolte, Galaxy Zephier, and Sage Poor Bear; and siblings Roberta Woman Dress, Alberta Clincher, and Nathan Hawk Wing.
Leonard was preceded in death by his sons Leonard Poor Bear Jr, and Paul Poor Bear; grandchildren Sinquiah and Sequioah Burge and Vincent Mesteth III; nephew John Clincher; and niece Nicole Woman Dress.
Pallbearers will be Casiyah Poor Bear-Burge, Thomas Tuttle, Kato Poor Bear, Charles Burge, Thomas “TJ” Tuttle, Myron Wagner, Robert Red Bear, and Theodore Jim.
Honorary pallbearers will be All Friends & Relatives.
