A Lincoln woman has been charged with 2 counts of 2nd-degree murder for allegedly intentionally hitting two maintenance workers at her apartment complex with her car Sunday afternoon. The names of the victims have not been released yet.
27-year old Taylor Bradley was taken into custody about 10-minutes after the incident a little before 1:30 pm and made her first appearance in court yesterday.
Lincoln Police Chief Teresa Ewins says when officers arrived at the scene, a grassy area of a parking lot about 20-to-30 yards from the roadway, they found the two men, both in their 40s, were already dead.
Multiple witnesses said Bradley “purposely” located the maintenance workers, then hit them both with her car. They told police that Bradley was the driver, and she was arrested just a few blocks away.
Chief Ewins says investigators have continued to interview witnesses to try to determine a motive. She calls the situation “more complex than one would think,” adding that police have video, but it doesn’t show everything prior to the men being hit.
As a result, Ewins says they are collecting as much video as possible in the area and looking into Bradley’s history and those of the witnesses and victims.
Neighbors and the apartment complex manager say Bradley had lived there about a year and no one had any complaints about her.
