Graveside services for 74-year old Lloyd Goings are Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.
A one-night wake service starts Monday, September 27, 2021 at noon at the Bryan Brewer residence east of Pine Ridge, SD.
Lloyd Wayne Goings was born on October 8, 1946 in Pine Ridge, SD to Ruth “Tootsie” Janis and Lloyd Goings, Sr. Lloyd made his journey to the Spirit World on September 21, 2021 at his home in Whitewood, SD.
Lloyd attended school at Oglala Community High School and later got his G.E.D. He joined the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War.
Lloyd later attended college in Huron, SD. and received his Bachelor’s Degree. He later on became a licensed pilot and flight instructor.
Lloyd was also a car sales dealer and a business corporate lawyer. He enjoyed gambling in Deadwood, watching stock car races, and traveling all over.
We will all carry his memory as a happy go lucky soul and we will miss him and his lunch dates along with the many phone calls and texts.
Lloyd is survived by his son, Troy Bettelyoun; siblings, Dennis Goings, Gaylene Stump, Nellie Long, Jacz Long, and John Long; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth “Tootsie” Long; father, Lloyd Goings, Sr.; brothers, Hobart Goings and Albert Long; sister, Imogene Goings; nephew, Dallas E. Howard III; niece, Kellie Walking Eagle; and granddaughter, Kristina Walking Eagle.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Brewer, Chuck Conroy, Ken Walking Eagle, Dan Rodriguez, Ken Many Wounds, Jeff Whalen, Austin Eagle Bull, Riley Albert and Richard Zephier.
