Several members of the local Pine Ridge Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu team were able to travel between snow storms and make it to Denver for the Colorado Jiu Jitsu Club tournament this weekend. Madison Dolezal and Natalia Dolezal of Rushville, both won silver medals in the youth section at the respective weights. They were in the gi, or uniformed, division which wears a uniform instead of just shorts and shirt.
In the adult division, Josh Cinocco of Crawford, also competed. Josh travels from Crawford to train with the club. Josh won a silver medal in the gi, or uniformed division in his weight class. He then went on to tear through a group of experienced competitors to win gold in the no gi division after some grueling matches.
Pine Ridge Judo and Jiu Jitsu has classes in Chadron and Rushville for both children and adults. Classes are taught by Dr. Dennis Dolezal. Check them out on Facebook for contact information.
