Loice Jay Bartlett passed away 7/27/24 at home. He was born in Riverview Nebraska, to Fritz and Ida (Gordon) Bartlett the fourth of eleven children.

Loice didn’t have much of an education, he started working at 13 or 14 years old to help support the family, mostly ranching and haying in the Sandhills, working his way towards Chadron. 

He met his wife to be in Chadron, Mary (Roberts). They were married on November 27th, 1951.

Loice loved to fish about anywhere, but mostly on the Niobrara River where he was born. Loice worked many jobs, carpenter, butcher, meat gutter, but mostly for Kansas Nebraska Gas for 30 years. With the fire department many years flying to spot fires. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Milo, Glen, Victor, Vonald, and one sister Verda (Sawle).

Loice is survived by three sisters, Vada (Haumann), Vivian (Sharp), Vernal (Pensberger). Four children Eldon, Harriet (Fischer), Cheryl (Miracle) and Troy. Many grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids. 

Loice will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
