Funeral services for 74-year old Lois Lays Hard are Monday, Dec 11, 2023 at 1:00 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD, with Mother Michelle Dayton and Lay Minister Mona Vocu officiating
Burial is at the Lays Hard Family Cemetery in Kyle.
A one-night wake service starts Sunday, Dec 10, at 1:00 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic in Kyle with evening services at 7:00.

Lois Marie Lays Hard “Suta Winyan”was born on April 11, 1949 at Pine Ridge Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD to Pershing Lays Hard and Mary White Feather. Lois made her journey to the Spirit World on November 29, 2023 at the Pine Ridge Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.
Lois was a very caring and loving person. She went to school at Holy Rosary Mission and then on to the Job Corps. Lois had plans but had to put them on hold to come home and take care of her grandparents.
That turned into taking care of more family members. Year after year, Lois was there for her family and friends whenever they needed help with anything. She was adored by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also loved to listen to country music.
Lois loved nature and she loved to do stuff outdoors like fixing cars, riding her lawn mower, going fishing, and fixing anything that needed to be fixed around the house.
Lois loved all animals, especially horses. She was what you call an “all-around cowgirl;” she grew up riding and taking care of them throughout her life. Lois always had dogs and cats that she took care of; she leaves behind her favorite dog, Curry.
Lois was a very strong and independent woman. She will be missed very deeply.
