Lorenzo Ivan Black Lance was born on September 13, 1956 in Wagner, SD to William and Mary (Jandreau) Black Lance. Lorenzo made his journey to the Spirit World on November 12, 2024 at his home in Rapid City, SD.
Lorenzo is survived by his children, Stephanie Black Lance, Ivan (Lance) Black Lance, Wambli Black Lance, Wambli (TK) Black Lance-White Calf and Anuka (Ana) Black Lance; grandchildren, Charmaine Hernandez, Lane Black Lance, Tyler Fayant, Zachary Fayant, Grace Black Lance, Hannah Black Lance, Seth Black Lance, Alex Black Lance, Noah Black Lance, Moses Black Lance, Darin Baker, Alec Baker, Layla Baker, Kimimila Black Lance, Johnathan Lorenzo White Calf, Wiyaka White Calf, Sung Manitu O’canku (Hoksila) Goings, Cante Skuya LaDeaux, and Zintkala LaDeaux; great-grandchildren, Emily Hernandez, Jamie Hernandez, Graysen Sturgeon, Aspen Sturgeon, Jaxsen Sturgeon, Reid Placher, Oakley Windsor Black Lance, nephews; Wayne Claymore Jr., Brad DuPris Sr., Terence Black Lance, Charles Black Lance, Raymond Shields, Louis Black Lance Sr., Victor LeRoy Jr., and William LeRoy; nieces, Paula Claymore, Cynthia Black Lance, Misty Shanburn Black Lance, and ShawnDae Lincoln; and many other numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lorenzo was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. William & Mary (Jandreau) Black Lance; daughter, Pte Ska Win Black Lance; brothers, Arthur Black Lance and Nilus Black Lance; and sisters, Norma, Elgene, & Julie Black Lance; hunka brother, Ed Murray; niece, Maryann Shields; and nephew, Russell Chase In Winter.
Pallbearers will be Ivan “Lance” Black Lance, Brad DuPris, Sr., Duane White Calf, Sung Manitu O’canku “Hoksila” Goings, Wayne Claymore, Jr., Seth Black Lance, Alex Black Lance, Noah Black Lance, and Moses Black Lance.
Honorary pallbearers will be all friends & relatives.
Wake Services: One night wake service starting at 2:00 PM, CT, Monday, November 18, 2024 at the Bishop Jones Building in Mission, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM.
