Funeral services for 60-year old Lorna Apple are Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 11:00 at the Little Wound House of Prayer in Kyle, SD, with traditional Lakota services by Mr Mikey Peters and Mr George Apple
Burial is at St Stephan’s Catholic Cemetery in Kyle.
A one-night wake service starts Monday, November 15, at 11:00, also at the Little Wound House of Prayer in Kyle.
Lorna Marie Apple “Wawokiya Win” was born on August 12, 1961 in Eagle Butte, SD to Chester Janis and Beatrice (White Weasel) Janis. Lorna made her journey to the Spirit World on November 6, 2021 at the Sanford Health Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Lorna is survived by her spouse, Marvin Apple, Sr.; daughter, Toni Apple; Hunka daughter, Monica Rouillard; sons, Mark Apple, Charles Apple, Marvin Apple, Jr., Chester Apple, and Maurice Apple; siblings, Darrell Janis and Francine Janis; Hunka sister, Imogene Roy; and numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Lorna was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Janis and Beatrice (White Weasel) Janis; brothers, Clarence Janis and Dale Janis; sister, Theresa Apple; grandchildren, Kayza Red Owl, Horatio Apple, and Angel Leah Apple; Hunka daughter, Tamera Ashley; and Hunka father, Garfield Grass Rope.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Apple, Cecil Apple III, Michael Apple, Osceola Blue Horse, Anthony Blue Horse, Lucas Apple, Jesse Shangreaux, Jimmy Little Bull, Robert Davis, and Michael Ashley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all friends and relatives.
