Lt Gov Enters State Auditor Race And Gets Endorsement Of Incumbent

       Nebraska State Auditor Charlie Janssen says he won’t seek reelection to a third term next year. Instead, he’s endorsing his predecessor, Lt Governor Mike Foley.

      Both announcements – that Janssen wasn’t running and Foley was – came in back-to-back interviews on Omaha radio station KFAB.

       Janssen, a former state senator first elected as auditor in 2014, said he plans to remain active in politics as a “free agent” and could run for office in the future, but doesn’t have any immediate plans to do so.

      Foley was elected to the legislature in 2000 and as auditor in 2006, He was both appointed Lt Governor and picked by Pete Ricketts as his running mate in September 2014 when Lavon Heidemann resigned both positions under fire
