Loading

One of the two men arrested Monday night as accessories to the murder of a man whose body was found that morning in a ditch near Rapid City has now been charged with the killing itself..

29-year old Andrew Thorson of Rapid City is charged with 2nd-degree murder in the shooting death of 25 year old Dhani Aronson, also of Rapid City.

Thorson is being held in the Pennington County Jail on a $1-million dollar cash-only bond and made his first court appearance Wednesday morning.

Aronson’s body was found along Hwy 16 by a passerby about 7:00 AM Monday. A medical examiner determined through an autopsy that he had been murdered.

25-year old Jacob Staton, arrested along with Thorson, is still charged with accessory to murder, but prosecutors say that count may be elevated. Staton also made his first court appearance on Wednesday.
