A man wanted on a first-degree murder warrant in connection with an October homicide in Omaha was arrested Monday night in Westminster, CO.

The U.S. Marshals Service Colorado Violent Offender Task Force located and arrested Dak Lam around 8 p.m. He was wanted by the Omaha Police Department for an Oct. 12 shooting that killed 21-year-old Keah Paljor.

Lam, 22, was identified by investigators as a suspect, and a warrant for his arrest was issued on Oct. 15. Two days later they developed information that he may be hiding in the Denver metro area.

That information was relayed to the U.S. Marshals Service Colorado Violent Offender Task Force. After several weeks of surveillance and investigation, task force members spotted a rental car with Nebraska license plates arriving at a home known to belong to a relative of Lam.

A person appearing to match Lam’s description got out and went inside but the person had their face completely covered. Investigators obtained a search warrant for the home after connecting the person who rented the car to Lam.

Due to the violent nature of the case, investigators requested assistance from the Westminster Police Departmentโ€™s SWAT team to execute a warrant at the home.

Lam was located and taken into custody. He’s now in the Adams County Jail awaiting extradition to Nebraska.
