Funeral services for 67-year old Marcell “Baby Dean” Bull Bear are Friday, June 3, 2022 at 10:00 at the Bull Bear residence 299 BIA Route 401 near Kyle, SD, with traditional Lakota services by Steve DuBray and Eyapaha by Pat Bad Hand and Jerry Dearly

Burial is at the Bull Bear Family Plot in Kyle

A one-night wake service starts Thurs, June 2, 2022 at 11:00 at the Bull Bear residence

Marcell  Dean Bull Bear, “Mato Ota” was born on November 9, 1954 in Pine Ridge, SD to Isabelle Featherman and Morris Bull Bear.  Marcell made his journey to the Spirit World on May 25, 2022 at his home near Kyle, SD.

Marcell is survived by his wife, Hazel Iron Cloud; children, Marques John (Delphina) Bull Bear, Vivian Rose(Carlos) Orozco, Shannell Mae Bull Bear, Carrie June(Late Darrell II) Blackbird, Molly Thunder Chief, Mathew Bull Bear, and Kelly Moore; brother, Morris (Claudine) Bull Bear; sisters, Emma (Jim) Featherman-Sam, Betty Bull Bear, Elizabeth Bull Bear, Deloris Bull Bear, and Judith Bull Bear; grandchildren, Nashae (Inyan)Eagle Elk , Dionna (Dawson)Bull Bear, Delilah Thunder Chief, Lalani (Antonio)Bull Bear, Daevonna (Chaz)Bull Bear, Ashlynn Abbey, Deondra BlackBird, Myles Bull Bear, Darrell Blackbird III, Selena Orozco, Carlos “Danny Boy” Orozco, Wanbli Ho Waste Win Bull Bear, Marquee Bull Bear, Elena Hazel Orozco, Araya Abbey, Melena Orozco, and Tanksi Orozco; great grandchildren, Amira Gracie Bull Bear, Mni Unnipi Win Eagle Elk, Jaxton LaBrake, Wanahca Wastela Zi Win Yellow Fat, and Emma Faye Eagle Elk; and numerous nephews, nieces and hunka childen.

Marcell was preceded in death by his mother, Isabelle Featherman; father, Morris Bull Bear; brothers, Delano Featherman, Ed Youngman Afraid of His Horses, and Moses Bull Bear; grandchildren, Daryon R. Blackbird and Marcella Grey Grass; and all of his Old Time Friends.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Blackbird III, Myles Bull Bear, Carlos “Danny Boy” Orozco, Ted Red Shirt, Inyan Eagle Elk, Thomas Dillon, Kullo Sam, Tim Stover, Daniel Bull Bear, Dana “Never Passes the Ball” Dupris, and Carlos Orozco.
