March 3 Trial Set For Scottsbluff-Bound Doctor Who Says She Killed Her Husband In Self-Defense

A March 3rd trial date has been set for an Omaha doctor scheduled to move to Scottsbluff nearly 2 years ago when she fatally shot her husband in front of their two children inside the family truck returning from a pre-move visit to Scottsbluff.

Five days have been set aside for the 2nd-degree murder and felony use of a firearm trial of 33-year-old Kathleen Jourdan.

Jourdan says she acted in self defense when she pulled a handgun from the center console of the truck and fired two shots into her husband, 35-year-old Joshua Jourdan.

She told investigators they were arguing while he was driving when he pulled over along Interstate 80 near Cozad on June 17, 2020, and made movements she felt were threatening.

She said her husband had been violent in the past and when he made the movements she felt were threatening, she feared for herself and the children.
