Marcus Tanner Big Crow was born on October 24, 1983 in Pine Ridge, SD to Susan (Thunder Bull) Big Crow and Donroy Big Crow. Marcus made his journey to the Spirit World on February 10, 2022 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Marcus is survived by his mother, Susan (Thunder Bull) Big Crow; sons, Daunte Big Crow and Waziyata Big Crow; siblings, Francis Jamie Big Crow, Xavier V. Big Crow, Tonoa Big Crow, Michael Watson, Cruz Watson, Kelli Mousseau, Cesilee Big Crow, Nicole Big Crow, and Latoya Watson; Hunka Ina, Darlene Walks Out; aunts, Phyllis Campbell, Dorothy Thunder Bull, Eunice Nassir, Tracey (Luis) Matai; uncles, William R. Gourd and John Connally; grandmothers, Francine Big Crow, Yvonne “Tiny” DeCory, Leatrice “Chick” Big Crow, Roberta Jumping Eagle-Spencer, Starlette Jumping Eagle, Delores Jumping Eagle, Audrey Jumping Eagle, and Georgia Jumping Eagle; grandfather, Phillip Jumping Eagle; and cousin, Delora Walks Out.

Marcus was preceded in death by his father, Donroy Big Crow; grandparents, Francis & Pauline Big Crow, Vincent & Ella Thunder Bull, and Irene Jumping Eagle; sister, Dominique Big Crow; aunts, Rose White Face, Linda Means, Cora Bird Hat, Bernadine May, Faye Lone Hill, and Nellie Ryder Iron Quill; uncles, Malcolm Thunder Bull, Cecil Thunder Bull, and Earl Thunder Bull; and cousins, Hans J. Christensen, Vincent R. Campbell, Wallace Thunder Bull, Tamera Ashley, and Edna Gutierrez.

Pallbearers will be Mark Hopkins, Raymond Big Crow, William Cody Gourd, Nicholas Campbell, Michael Ashley, Rueben Clifford, William Spotted Eagle, Frank Jumping Eagle, Travis Thunder Bull, and Roger Campbell, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Little Wound Class of 2003, 500 Mile Sacred Hoops Runners, Tokala Warrior Society, Sundown Montileaux, Dion Thunder Bull, McClain Easton, James Hawk, Art & Twila Hopkins & Family, and all cousins, friends & relatives.  

Marcus Big Crow was a veteran of the U-S Marine Corps and his arrangements are entrusted with Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge.
