Mark Ray Cottier was born on Christmas Day, Dec 25, 1967 in Pine Ridge, SD, to Robert Cottier Sr and Mildred Badger. Mark made his journey to the Spirit World on Jan 5, 2024 at his home in Sharp’s Corner, SD.
Mark is survived by his children Selena Cottier, Markia Wounded Head, and Markayla Wounded Head; granddaughter Kailani Little Whiteman; sister, Daphne Cottier; brothers Aldwin Cottier, Robert Cottier Jr, Alvin Cottier, and Frank (Babe Ann Marie & Family) Cottier; nieces Trinity Blacksmith, Alexis Cottier, Angelina Cottier, Frankie Cottier, Isabella Cottier, Reign Cottier, Patience Cottier, Madison Cottier, and Colette Whiting; nephews Aldwin Cottier Jr, Sylvester Cottier, Daniel Cottier, Colin Whiting, David Whiting, Jordan Cottier, Trey Cottier, and Duane Cottier.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents Robert Cottier Sr and Mildred Badger; maternal grandparents Mary Mousseau-Badger and Dave Badger; paternal grandparents Agnes Janis-Cottier and John Cottier; brothers Fred & Sylvester Cottier; sister Lucille Cottier; aunts Vera Badger, Bernadette Tuttle, Myrtle Badger, Bertha Badger, Sophie Badger, and Evelyn Big Owl; and nephew Jeremy Cottier
Pallbearers will be Joseph Blacksmith, Andrew Cottier, Sylvester Cottier, Cornell Red Star, Jordan Cottier, Colin Whiting, Tyler Little Whiteman, and Wesley Cottier.
