Marlita Mae Running Bear was born on May 11, 1966 in Pine Ridge, SD to Roy Morrison and Zona (Eagle Bear) Morrison. She made her journey to the Spirit World on June 11, 2024 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Marlita is survived by her daughters Jolita Morrison, Jennifer Rowland, and Lynette Little Moon; sons Lawrence Shott Jr, Ethan Cortier, and Stacy Bear Shirt; sisters Violet Never Misses A Shot and Cleo LaDeaux; brothers Charlie American Horse, Bobby American Horse, Amos American Horse, and Rudell Bear Shirt; grandchildren Troy Tayle, Marilyn Tayle, Pearl Ghost Dog, Aiden Shott, Sha’Laya Shott, Uriah Shott, Brady Shott, and Brandy Shott; nieces Amy & Leslie Cortier; and numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.
Marlita was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Zona (Eagle Bear) Morrison; spouse Roger Running Bear; son Sheridan Shott; and brothers Darrell Morrison, Willard Eagle Bear, and Mike American Horse.
Pallbearers will be Francis Red Feather, Myron Ghost Dog, Collin LaDeaux, Shawn Cortier, Gabe No Leaf, Amos American Horse, Michael Fast Horse, and Christian Fast Horse.
