Marty J “Joe” Martin was born in Lima, OH, on March 31, 1957, to Noble and Freda (Geckle) Martin. He passed away on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024.

On Jan 26, 1995, Marty married Cindy Hiner, who survives him in Crawford. Marty was proud to have served his country as a member of the United States Army, where he served with his brother Noble, and (current) brother-in-law Mike Meeker.

Marty was a member of the Bordeaux Creek Fur Trade and Muzzle Loaders Association, with which he was able to exercise his passion for history, craftsmanship, and marksmanship. He was also a proud member of the National Muzzle Loaders Association.

An avid outdoorsman, Marty loved exploring and getting out to see nature. He also loved working in his workshop, which he built himself, and was always spending time making something.

Above all, he loved spending time with his family, and treasured his time with his grandchildren.

Marty is survived by his wife Cindy (Hiner) Martin of Crawford; his daughter Brianna (Pat) Severns of Cheyenne, WY; his son Matthew (Kourtney) Martin of Lincoln, NE; his grandchildren Lucas Soester, Peyton Johnson, and Maya Martin; and many nieces and nephews.

Marty is also survived by his brothers Noble (Mary) Martin of DeMossville, KY; Morris (Doreen) Martin of Lima, OH; and his sisters Ann (Mike) Nalley and Janet (Mike) Meeker, both of Lima.
