Marty Leonard White Thunder was born on March 16, 1963 in Pine Ridge, SD to Kenneth White Thunder and Alice (Pumpkin Seed) White Thunder. Marty made his journey to the Spirit World on September 21, 2023 at the St. Luke’s Presbyterian Hospital in Denver, CO.
Marty was a free spirit, loved life, and loved his pets more than people because he knew his pets were more loyal friends than anyone.
He enjoyed his life, lived, loved, drank to his heart’s content, and never was mean. He was gentle and kind to all. Love you always, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Grandpa, and Friends.
Marty is survived by his sister Cindy White Thunder of Sharp’s Corner; nieces/nephews Allison Findlay and Aurora White Thunder, both of Sharp’s Corner; KC Richards of Rapid City, SD; Janelle Ponca and Dwight “Jimmy” Ponca, both of Sharp’s Corner; Latoya Ramirez, Stacey Longman, and Shelly Longman, all of Sioux Falls, SD; Billy Jo Featherman and Jonathan Tallman, both of Allen, SD; Alicia Eagleman, Robyn Brant, Jamie White Thunder, and Bobby White Thunder, all of Sisseton Lake Traverse, SD.
Marty was preceded in death by his father Kenneth White Thunder; mother Alice (Pumpkin Seed) White Thunder; sisters Karen White Thunder, Carol White Thunder, Delores White Thunder, Marie Janis-White Thunder, Amy Red Nest, and Irma Bad Wound; brothers James White Thunder, Dennis White Thunder Sr, and Robert “Bobby” White Thunder Sr; and grandparents Robert Pumpkin Seed, Mable (Eagle Bear) Pumpkin Seed, Albert White Thunder, Susie (Lone Bull) White Thunder.
