Sioux County and Crawford each placed wrestlers in the top four at the Mitchell Invite Friday.

Sioux County’s Jadon Skavdahl took third place in the 120-weight class, and Jesse Dunn picked up the fourth-place medal at 160.

Skavdahl defeated Mitchell’s Colton Marghreim twice on the day, first in the quarterfinals, where he pinned him in 1:06. The pair faced each other again in the third-place match, and Skavdahl earned a 6-0 decision victory. Skavdahl also defeated his teammate Baxter Reece in the consolation semi-finals, pinning Reece in 2:01. The win sent Skavdahl to the third-place match.

Skavdahl’s only loss of the day came to Tayven Jenkins of Chadron, who pinned him in 49 seconds in the semi-final round.

Dunn started the tournament with a quick win over Jeremy Swallow of Chadron, pinning him in 32 seconds. He dropped his semi-finals match to Peyton Abbot of Bridgeport in a fall in 2:49. Dunn recovered to pinn Wyatt Sauer of Mitchell in 46 seconds in the consolation semis to advance to the third-place round. Drew Varner of Hemingford pinned Dunn in 2:38 to leave him with the fourth-place medal.

Reece was 0-2 on the day, falling to Jamison Duncan of Mitchell in 3:18 in addition to his loss to Skavdahl.

Three Crawford wrestlers also came home with medals.

Paden Morava was third at 138, taking the bronze with a 3-0 decision over William Thomas of Mitchell. Morava pinned Tyler Lashley of Morrill in 1:51 in his first match of the day, but lost by a fall in 39 seconds to Chase McGrath of Bridgeport in the semi-finals. He defeated his consolation semi-finals opponent, Nate Randolph of Hemingford, with a pin in 1:42.

Crawford’s Colton Mader lost his opening match of the day in a 5-3 decision to Harrison Barnette of Bridgeport. After going 2-0 in the consolation rounds, he faced off with Barnette again in the third-place match and lost 5-0 to finish in fourth-place in the 145 class. Mader pinned Chadron’s Bennett Fisher in 3:32 in his first round of the consolation bracket and won his second round by forfeit.

With only two wrestlers at 220, the Ram’s Tristin Jacob finished second, losing both his matches to Jackson Jenkins of Mitchell. Jenkins pinned Jacob in 1:16 and 57 seconds in the rounds.

The Rams Ty Anders went 0-2 at 106, losing by fall to Yovanni Jimenez of Mitchell in 3:28 and by fall in 4:31 to Ryan Ragsdale of Hemingford. Fayt Anderson also was 0-2 on the day for Crawford at 113, getting pinned in 2:17 by Jarhett Anderson of Hay Springs and in 1:25 by Methius Gonzalez of Scottsbluff. Carson Gibbons was 1-2, losing his first and third matches by pin to Colby Langley of Sidney in 1:51 and Uzziah Voss of Mitchell in 1:27. Gibbons won his second match with a pin of Jose Arreola of Bridgeport in 1:48. Dalton Norman was 0-2 for the Rams at 152, losing both by pin to Trey Schindler of Kimball in 35 seconds and to Quinten Tretter of Bridgeport in 2:33.
