The billion-dollar Powerball jackpot may have been won last week, but the Mega Millions jackpot is continuing to grow and is $820-million dollars tonight – $418-million with the lump sum cash option.
The Mega Millions jackpot starts at $20 million and grows each drawing until it is won. There have been 27 consecutive drawings since April 21 without a winner, pushing the jackpot to the game’s 5th-largest.
. The 4 jackpots that were bigger all topped $1-billion dollars – including one earlier this year. The largest Mega Millions jackpot on record was $1.537-billion in October 2018 with one winner in South Carolina
Because of tonight’s big jackpot, the Nebraska Lottery encourages customers to play within their means.
Lottery Director Brian Rockey says it’s important to remember that the odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot remains 1 in 302 million regardless of how big the pot is, how many tickets are sold, or how many people play.
