Funeral services for 61-year old Melvin Featherman are Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Body of Christ Church in Porcupine, SD, with Pastor David Lays Bad and Senior Catechist Ben Conquering Bear officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr Harold Salway
Burial services are at St. Alban’s Episcopal Cemetery, Evergreen Community, Porcupine, SD
A two-night wake service starts Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 2:00 PM, also at the Body of Christ Church in Porcupine, SD.
Melvin Lee Featherman was born on August 26, 1959 in Rapid City, SD to Everett Featherman and Theresa (One Horn) Featherman. Melvin made his journey to the Spirit World on September 2, 2020 at the Monument Health Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City, SD.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Darmalee Tail; daughter, Marissa Featherman and Melissa Featherman; son, Shawn Tail; grandchildren, Zoey Tail and Thaileigh Williams; siblings, Vicki Brown Bull, Terry Featherman, Ardean Featherman, Roberta Featherman, Devonna Good Voice Elk, Linda Featherman, and Leland Featherman; children, Marissa & Melissa Featherman, and Shawn Tail of Porcupine, SD; grandchildren, Zoey Tail and Thaileigh Williams; and Hunka daughter, Rhiannon Richards.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Featherman and Theresa One Horn-Featherman; and nephew, Marlon Featherman.
