A Mass of Christian Burial for 51-year old Michael Pierskalla will be held Wed, Dec 6, 2023, at 10:00 at Saint Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Rapid City, SD 

Burial follows at 12:30 at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD. 

Visitation is Tues, Dec 5, from 5-6:00 at Saint Isaac Jogues Catholic Church with Rosary Services at 6:00

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements for Michael Pierskalla.

Michael Lawrence Pierskalla was born May 24, 1972, in Minneapolis, MN to Melbourne and Nancy (Pourier) Pierskalla. He died November 19, 2023, at his residence in Corona, CA. His last days were joyfully shared with his significant other, Mimosa (Mae) Calixto.  

Michael Pierskalla attended Brooklyn Center High School in Brooklyn Center, MN. He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps from 1993-1997. Michael was always proud of his military service and even prouder when his nephews followed his path and joined the Marine Corps. 

Michael loved all the Star Wars movies and series.  He was an avid collector of watches, action figures, and comics.

He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, liked visiting wineries and trying new restaurant, and in his leisure time enjoyed going to the movies and to the casino, and watching his favorite shows. 

Michael is survived by his parents Melbourne and Nancy (Pourier) Pierskalla of Rapid City; his son Brandon Pierskalla of Hemet, CA; his sister Lisa (Michael) Gyorda of Silver Spring, MD; nephews Bryson Reyes, Alec Reyes, Ryan Reyes, and Zachary Reyes; uncles and aunts Terry and Joyce Pourier, Claire Hickey, and Norman Pierskalla; and his first-cousins Lynn Pourier, Lee Pourier, Jeff Pourier, Debra Shane, Pamela Sherry, Brenda Kihl, Jeff Pierskalla, Sue Becker, Sandra Reich, and Donald Pierskalla.

Pallbearers will be Bryson Reyes, Ryan Reyes, Zachary Reyes, Owen Pourier, Jason Wolters, and Benjamin Wolters.

Honorary Pallbearers will be all friends and family.
