Funeral services for 59-year old Michael Piper will be Tuesday, July 6th at 10:00 am at the Scotty Brown Eyes Residence in Slim Buttes, SD.
Burial will be held at 2:30 pm at the Black Hills National Cemetery.
A wake service will be held Monday, July 5th at 2:00 PM also at the Scotty Brown Eyes residence.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Michael Piper.
Michael Joseph Piper was born on November 8, 1961 in Pine Ridge, SD to Aloyious Piper and Louella Brown Eyes. Michael made his journey to the Spirit World on June 27, 2021 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Michael is survived by his children, Vanessa Piper, Nicholas Piper, and Valentina Makes Him First; siblings, Lena (Will) Peters, Marlene Good Buffalo, Belva (Peter) Thunder Hawk, and Jennifer (Art) Fortin; uncle, Scotty Brown Eyes; grandchildren, Azilia Piper, Arlene Cuny Jr., Tanski Piper, Cecelia “Wash” Big Crow, Wahukheza “Huks” Big Crow, and Bryan “Baby Bryan” Smith, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and takojas.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Aloyious Piper & Louella Brown Eyes; daughter, Victoria Piper; siblings, Phillip Piper, Sr., Robert Thunder Hawk, Priscilla Hill, Chamblis He Crow, Sherilyn Brown Eyes; uncle, Joseph Brown Eyes; aunts, Shirley Piper and Jeanette Caldwell; nieces, Kerry L. Peters and Kayla Lou Matthews; and grandchildren, Waniyetu Piper, Ska Win Piper, Damian Piper, and Bailey Makes Him First.
