Miss Rodeo Nebraska Crowned

Loading

There is a new Miss Rodeo Nebraska – or there will be in January. Danielle Forster of Smithfield was crowned Wednesday night at Nebraskaland Days in North Platte, but doesn’t start her duties until the new year.

Ashlyn Mohling of Glenville was the 1st-runner-up with Brylee Thompson of Hershey was 2nd-runner-up.

Danielle Forster had competed for Miss Rodeo Nebraska before and says winning the crown is something she’s worked for her entire life, so she just feels “so incredibly thankful and blessed

Forster calls winning “very surreal,” adding that she’s “very happy God put this in my path.” She dominated in North Platte as she won the speech, appearance, and horsemanship competition leading into claiming the crown.

Forster has a bachelor’s degree in animal science from UNL and will add a master’s from UNL in August. She’s also been the coach of the UNL horse judging team.

Current Miss Rodeo Nebraska JoSee Saults will represent the state at the Miss Rodeo America competition during the National Finals Rodeo this November, but Forster will accompany her to help get prepared for next year’s competition.
