The South Dakota Highway Patrol says an 18-year-old man died just after 5:30 Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash 4 miles south of Rapid City, SD.
Names have not been released pending notification of family members.
The Patrol says its preliminary crash information indicates the teen was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Upper Spring Creek Road when a westbound pickup driven by an 87-year old man began making a left turn onto another road.
The oncoming motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of the pick-up. The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries. The driver of the pick-up had no injuries. The investigation into the collision is continuing.
