According to a press release from the Wall, SD fire department, several agencies from southwest and south central South Dakota battled a multiple-alarm fire in downtown Wall late Monday night at the Cactus Café and Lounge.
Fire agencies arrived to see a free-burning blaze with heavy smoke exiting the building. The fire extended into the roof assembly of a commercial structure with residential occupancy.
The fire took several hours for firefighters to extinguish and contain to the building of origin. The release goes on to say that crews are expected to remain on scene for the next several days.
No injuries to civilians, fire fighters, or domestic animals have been reported.
