Names Released In Fatal Crash Near Martin

      The South Dakota Highway Patrol has released names in a fatal accident last Thursday evening near Martin that claimed the lives of 2 individuals.

       The Highway Patrol says 56-year old Larry Bear Killer of Allen and his passenger, 61-year old Isadore Poor Thunder of Martin, were killed in a head-on collision around 6:30 PM on Hwy 18 about 7 miles west of Martin. 

       The Patrol says the second driver, 27-year old Spencer Rouillard Sr of Allen was westbound when he crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane and hit Bear Killer’s car. 

       Poor Thunder was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Bear Killer was belted in, but died of his injuries after being taken by ambulance to the hospital in Martin

      Rouillard suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the Martin hospital before being airlifted to Rapid City. Charges are pending against him.
