Naomi Kathryn Rezek (11/29/1923 โ 12/23/2024) departed this world from the Chadron Community Hospital on Monday December 23, 2024 to rejoin her husband.
Naomi, daughter of Herman Max and Vernona Kathryn Kutchara, was born and raised in Hay Springs, NE. After graduation from Hay Springs High School, class of 1941, she attended Parks Business School in Denver Colorado. While attending Parks she met Harold Paul Rezek at a USO function held at Trinity Methodist Church in downtown Denver. Upon completion of her school at Parks, Naomi traveled to San Angelo, TX where she and Harold were married on September 30, 1942 in the First Methodist Church Parsonage. The couple ultimately settled in Hay Springs (after Haroldโs deployment to England) to establish a farming life. While on the farm south of Hay Springs they had two children James Edward Rezek (1943) and William Everett Rezek (1946).
Thru-out the years Namoi worked as a secretary for the Nebraska Potato Growers Association, Duhamel Broadcasting (KDUH-TV), and as a postal clerk for the United Postal Service (Hay Springs Post Office). Naomi was a strong Christian lady who was a member and regularly attended the Hay Springs Methodist church. She belonged to the Hay Springs Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star serving a worthy matron multiple times, supervisor for a decade, page at Grand Chapter multiple times, Grand Ruth as well as attending Grand Chapter for 50 years.
Naomi especially enjoyed her time with her bowling league, travelling with her many close friends, and playing bridge with her bridge club as well as doing her many crafts.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Max and Vernona, her husband Harold, and her granddaughter in law Sharon.
Family survivors are James (Joan) Rezek of Brooklyn Park, MN.; William (Elaine) Rezek of Centennial, CO.; three grandchildren, Sanda (Thomas) Golds of Michigan, Brian Rezek in Colorado, and Chirstina (Larry) Page in Colorado; 5 grandchildren in Michigan; great granddaughter Samantha Page in Colorado; and 15 great great grandchildren in Michigan.
