The National Weather Service should have more details later today or tomorrow on a tornado that touched down briefly late yesterday afternoon in Kimball County.
A warning issued by the Weather Service said what was described as “a large tornado” was widely observed by storm chasers and off-duty NWS staff over open fields at 6:13 about 5 miles south of Bushnell or 11 miles west of Kimball.
A second warning issued at 6:58 described a “large and extremely dangerous tornado” 12-miles south of the Kimball Airport, but no confirmation was given in the warning and no indication whether it was the same twister.
