We are thrilled to announce that Amy Trueblood, a valued team member at NCAP Head Start/Early Head Start, has been awarded the National Head Start Association 2023-24 Family Advocate of the Year for the state of Nebraska.
Currently serving as a Family Engagement Specialist with NCAP Head Start, Amy’s journey began as a Head Start Coordinator for the Home Base program. Shortly thereafter, she transitioned to the role of Family Engagement Specialist for Chadron Head Start. With over two decades of commitment, Amy has been an integral part of our Head Start program since 1999, demonstrating dedication to the well-being of our Head Start children and families.
Amy’s impact extends beyond her official roles. She has created numerous community partnerships and actively participates in county meetings. She played a pivotal role in the Families and Schools Together (FAST) program, which was created in collaboration with Chadron Public Schools and Western Community Health Resources, facilitating the smooth transition of children into kindergarten.
Amy is a role model for new and seasoned staff members, providing invaluable support and training. Her passion for the welfare and education of families is evident in her tireless efforts and innovative approaches to addressing challenges within our program.
Reflecting on her achievement, Amy remarked, “It is an honor to work closely with children and their families, witnessing their growth and accomplishments.”
