The Nebraska Legislator has passed the new state budget, decreasing child care subsidies and removing scholarships for students in private or religious schools saving the state more than six million dollars. Senators advanced the budget, with 33 votes and none against on Thursday with no further debate.
By advancing the budget the state has brought the budget deficit down from just over 471 million dollars to 38 million dollars.
