Nebraska Congressional Delegation Supports Disaster Request For Panhandle

Loading

Nebraska’s  entire congressional delegation has written to President Joe Biden, urging him to approve Governor Jim Pillen’s request for a major disaster declaration for much of the Panhandle as a result of a winter storm April 6th and 7th.

Senators Deb Fischer and Pete Ricketts and Congressmen Mike Flood, Don Bacon, and Adrian Smith say the region needs help as freezing rain, strong winds, and blizzard conditions cause more than $10.5-million dollars in damages – mainly to the electrical infrastructure in a large section of the Panhandle.

Governor Pillen’s request is for a disaster declaration covering Dawes, Sioux, Banner, Cheyenne, Garden, Kimball, Morrill, and Scotts Bluff Counties.
