Nebraska took advantage of several short-field situations and allowed just one touchdown while dominating Wyoming 46-6 in the 15th annual 6-Man Football All-Star Game played Friday night at Chadron State College.

The win was Nebraska’s sixth in the last seven years and gives the Cornhusker State a 9-6 lead in the all-time series.

Nebraska scored in every quarter behind quarterback Houston Billeter of Southwest High at Bartley, who threw two touchdown passes, threw no interceptions and kicked five two-point conversions.

Billeter’s scoring passes went to Alec Watchorn of Leyton and Drew Schmaderer of Stuart, both of whom also made big plays on defense that set up Nebraska touchdowns.

Watchorn broke up a pass on fourth down that gave the ball to Nebraska on the Wyoming 17-yard line and Schmaderer ran the ball the length of the field for an apparent touchdown, only to have much of the run negated by a penalty.  However, Nebraska scored its final TD a few plays later

Jaxon tenBensel of Silver Lake scored Nebraska’s first TD on a 10-yard run while Gage Ely of Red Cloud scored on runs of eight and six yards in the middle of the game.

Wyoming’s only TD came on an eight-yard pass from Kyle Smith of Hulett to Sammy Ramarez of Hanna-Elk Mountain to wrap up a 15-play drive in the second quarter.  However, that proved to be Wyoming’s scoring threat.
